NJ Smoke Alarm Detector Regulations

New Jersey towns have different protocols for residents to access the Uniform Fire Code Prevention Application.

Portable fire extinguishers for residential homes of not more than two households: On February 3, 2025, in Section 2(a) of A-3894/S-2580, the state of New Jersey removed the requirement for portable fire extinguishers. Municipalities can individually decide, however, to retain the requirement.
